About Me!

Welcome to my Blog!

I credit the mother of my good friend for the ‘Tessie’ label. To me the name represents a passion for creativity.  Tessie is of English origin and means Harvester, summer.  I guess it could be said that I harvest old unloved furniture into something to be loved again and I do prefer the Summer season.  Either way,  I love to create! When I look at something I can always see envision something totally different than it’s intended purpose.

Creating is how I feel the most comfortable especially after a day at the office…it is where I can create to my hearts content…

I started sewing in high school back when there were Home-economics classes. Over the years I made some of my own clothing and clothing for my children. On the side, while raising my family I did dress making, alterations, window fashion and even wedding apparel and children s clothing.

I have discovered chalk paint, but not just any paint, this is Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. I have have always looked at a piece of discarded furniture and see so much more. I love to experiment with colour and I see endless possibilities all around me. Annie Sloan Chalk Paint has opened up so much more possibilities.

I guess it really doesn’t matter to me what the medium is, I love to work with my hands and my mind and see what I can come up with next.
